Lookup column to a view or filtered list?

Is it possible to add a lookup column to a list that only allows you to
select items within a certain view?

Essentially I have a list with 2000 ish items, but I am only after a
particular content type within that list (of which there are only
several hundred items), when I open the new form using a standard
lookup field this returns all items regardless of content type and I
can see no easy way to alter this.

It seems that there is not a SharePoint lookup column according
to your demand. However, I learn that another third party product,
SharePonit list collection, may solve your problem. You can select
column and to one list. For more information, you can visit
