Logon with only user name and password

Asked By: R    Date: Oct 21    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 928

Our intranet site is accessible from the internet with https. I would like
the users to be able to log on with their username and their password
without having to enter "domain\username", is that possible? It works on our
Outlook Web Access connection, but it seems the same setting does not work
with SPS2003.

Any ideas?

I am not a network/infrastructure guy but can you not set the "default"
domain in the settings of the server? Is it possible it is not set on
that server?

That is what I've tried and that is how it is set on our Webmail server. But
I cannot get it to work on our SPS-server.
IIS Manager - Site Properties - Directory Security - Authentication and
access control - Edit
I have tried both Digest authentication and Basic authentication here.

I don't really know if you need Digest or not. I have my portal sites
setup as Basic Authentication method with the default domain specified
in IIS and it only prompts for the usernames. Are there any other
checkboxes checked?
