Login needed for discussion on documents

Asked By: Christopher    Date: Apr 17    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 739

I have a Sharepoint portal server installed on the Internet. It's
has been configured for extranet use and employs basic
authentication. I have no problem logging into the website. But when
i click on the discuss link to start a discussion on the document,
SPS pops up a login box. After keying in the userID and password, it
still refuses to let me in. I tried pressing "Cancel" and it bumps me
to the "You are not authorised to view this page" page. The only
solution seems to be logging in with my administrator account, but
that wouldn't be feasible and will compromise my security.

I have enable web discussion on the web site as described in
the "Deploying MS SPS 2001 Across an Extranet" white paper. Is there
anything else that i can try to get the discussion thread going??

Any help will be greatly welcomed.
