Login for every page item?

Asked By: Patrick    Date: Feb 10    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 6502

I am using Firefox Portable. I just installed
Avira for an antivirus program, and now when I enter the sharepoint site, I am
asked to login for each item on the page! This doesn't happen in the
non-portable firefox. This is very strange and I can't find the setting to fix
it. I already added it to the exceptions areas but it doesn't help. Each time
I login I get a little more of the page. If I login enough times then I receive
the whole page and am fine until I click on a link. Does anyone have a clue?

but I've already been there. I wouldn't have posted
without first doing a google search. The trick didn't do anything for me. any
other ideas?

With my usual Google-fu powers I can't seem to come up with anything out there!
I would suggest going straight to the source and seeing if you can open a ticket
with them:

Are you using Kerb or ntlm authentication?

I figured it out. In firefox's About:Config panel, in the
network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris field, I had not entered the address
correctly. It started working after I gave the entire root address for the
site: http://portal.somethingorother.org/ Before I only had
portal.somethingorother.org, thinking the http:// was unnecessary, but it
appears I was wrong. But it works now!
