Load Balancing configuration issues

Asked By: Stella    Date: Jun 23    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1391

When testing load balancing and going to the address
(www.sitename.com) we get prompted for a user name and password. Id if
you do to the hostheader name (sitename) you get the same results.
(This is from the lan)

If you go to the site through the firewall no load balancing you get
right in without being prompted. (This is from the internet)

Any ideas would be helpful.

1. Integrated authentication is working for the IE Intranet zone
on the Netbios.dom.com. But, either Internet, or Trusted sites w/out
Integration Authentication turned on for the zone in IE, which prompts
for a password

2. NTLM authentication is connection-based, so integrated
authentication is failing because your LB/FW is breaking the connection.
Either way, verify integrated authentication is turned on for the zone
the LB host is included in. If it is Internet, change it to Trusted
Sites in IE and modify the Trusted Sites zone. IA is the last option
under 'custom'
