Lists Web Service

Asked By: Tracie    Date: Jul 20    Category: MOSS    Views: 613

I am trying to work with the Lists.asmx web service in moss. Is there
now way to add a new list item using this? It seems the only way to add
a new list item is to use the object model. I can't beleive this is the
case.

You can add  list items. I'll look for an example. If I can't find one,
I'll try to generate one.

You use the UpdateListItems method to add, delete or update items in a
list.

Can you please elaborate on your answer. I am also under the same
impression that i have to use the object  model. If possible few
lines of code to add  new list  items using lists.asmx.

There is some sample code in the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 SDK
help file: WSS3sdk.chm Just drill in to Class Library and Web
Services Reference, Web Services, Lists Web Services, ...

If you need to download the SDK there is a link here:
msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/default.aspx
