list/library question (UNCLASSIFIED)

I need to figure out how to recalculate calculated fields in a list/library without manually editing each individual entry. Is it even possible? If so, how?

Calculated fields  recalculate on their own. They are based on other
fields in the list item or (with some help) the date and/or user
browsing (SID) the page. If someone changes a value that the calculated
column is based upon in the list item, the calculated  column will
automatically update.

Given that, help me understand a situation where you would need to
manually update each list item...

I have a list that feeds data (including today’s date) to a form library. I have multiple fields  in that form library that rely on the data from the list (or calculations thereof). To be accurate, these calculations need to happen daily, if not instance to instance (meaning that as the page containing the data is viewed that the today’s date field is updated across the board). I thought I might be able to use some kind of hidden web part on the viewing page to update the records before viewing.

What you are saying doesn't make any sense to me. If you are trying to
update a column with today's date in it, don't. Use the [Today] hack
(http://tinyurl.com/g7dc6) and every listitem will always be up to date.
