List Template Gallery

Asked By: Keaton Boyle         Date: May 26, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 386

I have a site where I created a user survey. Once everyone agreed on the questions, I saved the list as a template, then created a subsite. I thought all lists from the list template gallery would be available to the subsite? Did I do something wrong? Where would that list template be available.

SharePoint Portal 2003?

Was the survey created  on the root site  of the site collection?

If no, then look in the site gallery  where it was saved.

In which gallery was it saved?

You may need to download the template  and then upload it to the site collection root or sub-site gallery where you want to create the new survey.

If the template  was created  on a Portal Area, it may not be available on the create page of sub-areas (sub-webs), because of the different site  definitions. But there is an easy way to do it. For WSS sites, template should be available.
