List and spd

Asked By: Stephanie    Date: Dec 24    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 762

I have been asked to create a task workflow appliction.
1. have a task list with several custom columns on it - done that
2. have a mutli-step workflow is SPD that when the new task is
submitted it sends an email to a user that was selected in step 1 -
done that
3. the taskee who recieves the email has to go back to somthing, i
assume the task list to view the task and then they should have a
form of some sort to selected a worker-be and fill in comments, but
at the same time view a read only version of the original task. This
is where i am stuck how would i go about doing this?
4. is another step that i have not even got to yet, but same thing
the worker be needs to be able to view the task and enter in some of
there own data and then upload doc to certain folders in a document
library that has to be associated with the original task.

Any help, some where to read or somthing would be great. I have been
spinning my weels for over 4 days. I am very new so using advance VS
codeing would be very diffcult for me.

It seems to me that you need to define what you need to do in step  3
before you can come up with a solution that makes sense.

When your SP Designer workflow  assigns the task, you should use the
action: "Collect Data from a user". This action lets you then
specify the custom  fields that will exist in the task, for the user
to fill  out. On the task list  itself, as long as you have the "send
email when assigned" feature turned on, then the assignee will
receive the email  with the task  contents.

I think everything you need to do can be accomplished with SP
Designer. I highly recommend this site:

us/sharepointdesigner/HA102564171033.aspx

I learned most everything I know about workflows - from this site.
It is a VERY VERY FRIGGIN COOL demo.
