List not accessible through forms based authentication

Asked By: Tameka    Date: Feb 04    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1839

We've recently implemented forms based authentication (through a 3rd
party) on our production site.

My situation is that I have a webservice that queries our SharePoint
site to get its information.

When I run this webservice on our development server that is using
Windows based authentication I can open the open the site, open the
web, and get access to the list (e.g. SPList list =

When I try to run this same webservice on our production server that
uses the forms based authentication, I can open the site, open the web
(all after calling Authentication.Login method through SharePoint
webservices), but when I try to open the list (e.g. SPList list =
web.Lists["Contacts"]), the list does not exist.

I looked through the webs list collection, and indeed the contacts
list is not in the collection. I've played around with the security
on the SharePoint site to try to give access on the list to the user
being authenticated through the Authentication webservice, but that
does not

Does anyone have any idea why this does not work. Is it a security
issue? Or is this something different.

I've gotten access  to the list, but now my problem is when I try to
access the Imaging webservice, the FBA on our site  redirects to our
login page. Is there a way to programatically authenticate with FBA
or somehow set permissions so that I can get around this?

You can build a credentials object to populate the WebService
credentials property. That should take care of the authentication
