List DataSheet View - MS Office Standard

Asked By: Tyrel Macdonald         Date: Jul 18, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 310

Will Office 2003 & 2007 STANDARD edition open lists with datasheet view. If
not, is there any documentation from Microsoft stating this? Is anyone aware of
a work around?

I believe that the datasheet  view is powered by Microsoft Access. I have
not found any documentation on this, but when we setup our first
training environment, the pc's didn't have access installed and the
datasheet did not work. As soon as we upgraded it worked flawlessly.

In 2007 it is Access, in 2003 it was Excel. The Professional or better
SKU of Office is required for both if memory serves since there is also
an ActiveX control involved that is not included in Standard.
