Links for You and News for You

Asked By: Brian    Date: Jan 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 776

The front page of a SharePoint portal has a web part called "Links for You". The default "My Site" has two web parts - "News for You" and "Links for You".

If you create a portal listing for the Home area (Manage Content > Portal Listings) and target it to an audience, it appears under "Links for You" on the front page of the portal but under "News for You" on My Site.

If you go to Site Settings > Manage targeted links on My Site and create a listing, it appears in the "Links for You" web part on "My Site". It doesn't seem possible to get these listings to appear in more than one area and if you change the location from the target links area, you can't put it back again.

Have I misunderstood something here? How can I get targetted links to appear on the "Links for you" parts "correctly", i.e. in both the portal and My Site?
