Add Links to default Links Web Part

I can't remember (or find) how to add list items to a list so they are
listed by default. I have a custom links Web part and want to have n
links in there by default when a site is created.

Anyone have a reference link or direction to look?

You can create a links  list, add  the default  links, then when you make
your template, check the box to Include Content.
