Linking MySites to Portal in 2007

Asked By: Chelsea    Date: Aug 18    Category: MOSS    Views: 780

I'd like for there to be a link in MySites that links the user back to
our Portal. We only have one portal so all users belong to same portal.

I would like for this to be in the Breadcrumb trail. I know this can
be done manually by each user configuring a Connection to a Portal.

Is there a way, though, that I can force this for all of my MySites?
Or at least for all future mysites as they are created?

I've already been told there isn't a way to do it, but wondering if
there was a way either by using Designer, or modifying some ASPX

I would assume this could be done in the site definition, but I don't know how
to do this specifically.

One option is to add the link using the Personalization Site Links under the SSP
(see under 'User Profiles and My Sites' on the SSP home page). The link will
then appear on users My Sites as an additional tab - not as a breadcrumb, but
gets the link included in all existing and future My Sites.

You can also decide which users see Personalization Site Links on My Sites using
target audiences.

Yeah but the problem with Personalization Site Links is when you click
the link, it imbeds it in your Mysite page, excluding the original
menus. It looks really weird. Try it if you haven't already. I wish
that would have worked for us...
