For existing MySites you have to go to Site Actions > Site Settings on each My
Site and Select the Portal Site Connection link  from the Site collection
Administration column. Then you can enter a Portal Name and URL. This will
display in the Global Breadcrumb trail in the upper left hand corner of the

If you navigate directly to the Site Settings page in the root of the MySite
host Provider and set this setting, then as new MySites are created they will
pick up this setting as the default. But there is no way to retrofit existing
MySites other than visiting every MySite.

If I'm not mistaken, couldn't he just add  a personalization site link
from his SSP. As long as he doesn't use a target audience it should
work for everyone.

I needed to do exactly this, first
thing this morning as we created our My Sites for the first time. It
worked perfectly, just as you said. Thanks so much for the tip, I
think you guys must be psychic!
