We have run into a really annoying issue which we are not sure is a bug or not. In some cases links to all lists and libraries appears on publishing site navigation. And when trying to remove the items from "Navigation Editing and Sorting" on "Modify Navigation", the change doens't go through. The site is stuck with links to _layouts/viewlsts.aspx.
We can reproduce this on all our environments and also on the Microsoft TechNet Virtual Labs environments.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new "Publishing Portal" site collection
2. Modify the Press Releases site navigation to
Global navigation - Display the navigation items below the current site
Current navigatino - Display only the navigation items below the current site
3. Create a new document library or custom list on the site
4. The links appear in the publishing site current navigation menu (which they shouldn't.. only subsites and pages should be there)
5. Delete the list
6. The links still appears in the left menu
7. Modify the site navigation again and try to remove the links
8. The links still appears in the left menu
Is there something we have misunderstood here or is this a bug in SharePoint (we're using SP1)?
This is causing really big problems for us since most of our sites will have the navigation settings described in step 2 and we need to create some additional lists and libraries under each of our subsites to store some interal resources.
