"Lingering" code issue

Asked By: Dejuan    Date: Mar 21    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 970

I've installed a MySites feature based on the MySiteCreate 1.0
Production community kit found here:
However, it has stopped working (I am now getting "Page Not Found"
errors when I try to create a new MySite). I have attempted to remove
it (using stsadm deactivatefeature + stsadm uninstallfeature), and it
no longer shows up as a feature. I've checked the GAC, and the
feature receiver assembly it was referencing (MySiteCreate) is no
longer there. I've even bounced the box. However, when I try to
create a new MySite, it's still "hitting" the code that is used to
rearrange the web parts, and is bombing out. When I check the event
viewer, I still see the event source of this code (MySiteCreatePart).
My question is, how can I get rid of any traces of the feature
receiver that calls into this code, if the feature that was associated
with it is no longer installed on the farm? There is nothing in the
/bin folder, and the GAC no longer has a reference to it. Where is
this coming from?
