How can i allow users to delete their own files not others in Document
list. I am using Sharepoint Portal Server 2003.I am administrator.I tried to
do as posted in one of the discus.forums but i don't see the read access & Edit
access: as mentioned in Change General Settings. I see only Name and
Description, Navigation,Direction,Content Approval,Document Version,Document
Template only these options.

Previous Forum post solution:

Modify the item level security under the Modify Settings and
Columns, Change General Settings
Read access: Specify which items users can read
All items
Only their own
Edit access: Specify which items users can edit
All items
Only their own
None

SharePoint 2003 only has granular permissions for Lists. Permissions can only be
set for an entire Document Library.
