Limit number of items on the default page

Date: Oct 08    Category: MOSS    Views: 902

I am new to SharePoint. We have a team website and I am trying to design it.
As time passes and more items are added to each web part the default page is
getting longer and longer. To avoid scrolling the default page, can you limit
the number of items that display? Well, I know it can be done, but have not
figured out how.

Welcome to SharePoint :) One easy way to accomplish your goal would be
to edit the list view(s) displayed on the home page. Each of those web
parts is being fed by a list, and each list can have multiple views. I
would suggest creating a new view (called something creative like "Home Page
view") for each list that you're showing on the site home page; then in the
view itself, you can go to the "Item Limit" section and tell it how many
items should be displayed at once.
