Licensing Issues

Asked By: Connor    Date: Mar 04    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 782

We are currently running WSS from an Action Pack Subscription and are
looking to begin using Sharepoint with our external clients. I know
WSS (or anything acquired through the Action Pack) cannot be licensed,
so we're already in for buying a fresh copy of SPS. We are a small
company and are looking for the most cost effective licensing
solution. Does anyone have any advice on a licensing route to take or
have similar experience with any of this?

-WSS license is part of windows server license.
-SPS costs money.. a lot... and all you basically get is a better management
interface, enterprise search application (lets you search external  sources), and
profiling.. are the ones people like to use a lot from what ive seen.

i hope that clears stuff up.. if you want $ figures, check with microsoft.
