KPI Issue with Sub Directories

Asked By: Mrigendra    Date: Mar 10    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 807

I'm trying to create a very simple KPI Indicator. That displays the amount of
documents that are in an 'Inbox' view.

This view is created and the criteria is that the 'Status' metadata field is
empty. The view also uses the 'Show all files without folders' option, as
documents are automatically sorted into a date/time folder structure.

Here's the problem. When I create this indicator, the returned value is 1. After
messing around I realized what is happening is KPI does not honor the 'show all
files without folders' that 1 is reflecting the 1 subfolder that is in the root
of the DL. If i add another directory in the root, it displays 2.

Soo.. After much searching I have only found one person who claims to have
resolved this:

But his resolution is far from ideal, and I don't even see it working.

Has anyone heard of this problem before? Any Ideas of what I can do?

Not sure if it will work for you, but I made my own KPI Indicator-like web part
from a DVWP. The regular KPI web part would not allow me to link web parts.
