Kerberos Error Message Received When Configured Index Server to Star

Asked By: Zachariah    Date: Aug 10    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 862

I created all SPN names for portal address, CA server, DB server and
one for the new index server.

So, the error message I recieved was:

Kerberos Event ID 4

The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the
server host/indexservername.domain.com. The target name used was
HTTP/indexservername.DOMAIN.COM. This indicates that the password
used to encrypt the kerberos service ticket is different than that on
the target server. Commonly, this is due to identically named
machine accounts in the target realm (DOMAIN.COM), and the client
realm. Please contact your system administrator.

Which means, the CA is trying to talk to the index server through
HOST SPN but it should be HTTP.

As I searched, looks like this is a duplicated SPN name issue. Then
my questions are:

1. is Central admin trying to connect to index server uisng host,
instead of HTTP?
2. If so, I porbably want to remove HTTP SPN, however, should I
change the account name bound to HOST to the domain user account name
which used by the central admin app pool?
