jquery for getting a row or column index from a list

Date: Oct 13, 2011      Category: MOSS      Views: 131

Does anyone know how to use jquery to get a row index or column index from a
list based on its text contents? Say I know that in one of the list fields
there is the text "Bob Newhart", and the column title is "People". Now, I want
to find out what column and row it is in so that I can grab the value of the
text in the same row where the column header is "Jobs".
