javascript error

i got this error when i am opening child site under subsite.

Cannot make a cache safe URL for "JScript2.js", file not found. Please verify that the file exists under the layouts directory.

I have not seen JScript2.js file  in the out of the box files that are deployed via sharepoint.
Check if you have some customizations done and that is referencing this file, it seems that somewhere this file is referenced and it is missing from the _layouts (12 hive) location.

Try your site  with the default master page (out of the box one).

Recently i customized default.master(child site) page by using sharepoint designer.I removed left navigation from child  site.So may be that is the reason to get that error.How can i solve that error.

Either add the java script file  or set the master page to site  definition (using Sharepoint Designer right click on the default.master page and set it to site definition) this will get you the original master page.
