Issues - Assign to Multiple People

Does anyone have a good solution for how to assign an issue to multiple
people?

It appears there are two basic solutions:

1) Make a choice box with checkboxes to allow multiple selections (not
good for a large team)
2) Create multiple lookup columns and label column something like
"assigned to #1", "assigned to #2", etc.

I think you've pretty much covered the options. Alternatively you can just use
a text field. None of these is ideal of course.
