Issue with the SharePoint blog pictures

I have a SharePoint blog. I use MS word to post in the blog. When i add
pictures in the posting content, the pictures are not getting checked in for
others who view the blog . Its checked out and displays "Red X" mark. Any
suggestions would be highly appreciated.
