Internet Explorer crashes with SPS 2003

I am having a problem connecting to my Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 with MS
Internet Explorer (versions 5.5 and 6). Every time I connect I get the
following error message in Event Viewer Application Log :

Event ID: 1000
iexplore.exe, 5.51.4807.2300, jscript.dll, 5.6.0.8513, 0000ec8f.

Has anyone else had this problem ? How did you solve it?
