Internet access using FQDN

  Asked By: Rachelle    Date: Dec 22    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1170

Can anyone provide the steps necessary to enable access to a WSS 2.0 server
using a FQDN?

Trying to access the server from the intranet using the hostname works, but
using the FQDN does not. The FQDN shows up in DNS, and I've added a host
header in IIS 6.0.

Are there additional steps necessary to make this work? I understand that
additional configuration is necessary to enable access through the firewall,
but I just want to get it working internally first.

Never mind, problem resolved. My DHCP server  had entries for my ISPs DNS
servers, but not my local DNS server.

Sorry, SharePoint, for all the bad things I might have said about you.
