Interesting functionality across MOSS servers

Asked By: Felicia    Date: Nov 01    Category: MOSS    Views: 643

I came across something quite by accident while trying to figure out
why we can't activate a form with managed code on one of our MOSS
servers. Server A would not activate our form. Server B, however
would. When I got the form on Server B and filled it out, all the code
actions worked as expected but, a copy of the form on Server B could
not be found. Then I realized that I had uploaded and activated a form
published for Server A and ended up finding a copy of the filled out
form on Server A. Okay, that's easy enough to fix and I did.

Now that I reflect on that, there could be some interesting ways to use
the ability to publish one form for a particular server and/or site and
then use it elsewhere. Don't know if this is "breaking any rules" or
not but it could come in handy.

I'm confused. Shouldn't the form  have been in the database and therefore
available for the whole farm?

I might have used incorrect terminology. This was done through two
separate instances of SharePoint Server, each using their own
database.
