Integrating a custom Outlook Web Part

Asked By: Cyrus    Date: Mar 10    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1037

I need to create a cutom outlook web part because we're not happy
with the provided ones.

Here's what I've done:

I created vb.net project that uses the outlook class. All the
functionality works in a user control (aspx page). However, it
doesn't open the Outlook windows (create mail, for example) when it's
in Sharepoint. It just does a postback.

Instead, I decided to create one using javascript. It works as an
html page (see code below).

But, does anyone know why the following code does not work as an aspx
user control? I am trying to create an outlook control (that ties
into the smartpart), but this code does not work in an aspx control.
I get an error when i call ComposeMail(), it says ViewCtlFolder is
not defined. My javascript isn't that great, and I cannot figure out
why I cannot create this control.

I need to complete this asap and am stuck. Any help would be
appreciated.
