Instant Messaging - imsc toolbox?

Has anyone here had any experience with the imsc toolbox?

I am looking for some documentation other than the Microsoft Instant
Messaging Service Component (IMSC) Reference.

Particularly I am looking for the way to achieve the team part specified
in the read me:

1. A team status Web Part - this would exist on a team dashboard and
could use the IMSC to determine if the online/offline status of each
team member and display it in a Web Part

I imported the four IMSC web parts in the following order (as the ms readme
file states):
imsc.dwp
IM Contacts
IM Session
IM History
Yet when I try to add a contact, I get a javascript error about "OIMDOMWPQ3
is null or not an object". I can't add any contacts.
Any ideas?
