Installing the Released Version of MOSS 2007

Asked By: Evelyn    Date: Jun 19    Category: MOSS    Views: 736

I have downloaded the released version of MOSS 2007 from our MSDN
Universal subscription and am attempting to install it. I have run
through the installation piece without problems but I am having
trouble configuring it. When I try to create a new Shared Services
Provider, I get an error that no indexer is available.

However, I had selected "Windows Sharepoint Search" option to create a
search database in the OPerations-->Services on Server section of the
configuration. (There is no longer an option for Sharepoint Server
Search in the Operations-->Services on Server section like in Beta
2.) I ran through that process and the search database was created
but it doesn't look like it tied any indexer services to the server.
I am a bit confused. Has anyone else successfully configured the
released version of MOSS 2007? Or does anyone know of any installation
instructions that pertain to the released version rather than beta
2TR? I appreciate the help!

I think I just realized what my problem is...when I installed I selected Web
Front End rather than Custom during the initial installation process.
