Install on Win XP Professional

Did any one installed SharePoint Portal Server 2001 with SP2 (v1.0) in
Windows XP Professional (with SP1) ?

Any known issues? Please advice.

Any idea why Microsoft doesn't support it (officially) ?

You need Windows 2000 server for SharePoint. It is a server product that
installs on a server Operating System.
