Inserting the blog control into a masterpage

Asked By: Wyatt    Date: Jan 12    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1079

I notice that on a blog site, the default.aspx has a blog control in
lieu of the quicklaunch control.
This seems to take place on the default.aspx page instead of the
default.master and I was wondering if there was any way to remove or
hide the existing quicklaunch control on default.master (or a copy
thereof) and have the blog control on the masterpage itself.
Any ideas?

The quicklaunch  on the master page  is just the default control  loaded into the
PlaceholderLeftNavBar. If you simply replace that in the master  page with the
specifics of what you want loaded it should show instead of the existing
quicklaunch.

I am also looking for the specific control  used for the blog  manager control
found in the blog sites..
I have seen where there is a web part zone inserted where the quicklaunch
control is..but since web part zones cannot be put on masterpages, I am not able
to simply cut and paste the code..
