InfoPath to Word

Asked By: Donavan    Date: Oct 06    Category: MOSS    Views: 870

On a MOSS site, the goal is to get some/all fields from an InfoPath'07 form into
a Word document using a specific Word template. Two approaches are:
1) push from InfoPath doc into Word
2) pull from Word template.
But I cannot use Visual Studio due to IT policy.

There's quite a bit on WEB about #1. All of it uses some C# to write an XML doc,
then some xmlDOM object to put it into Word. Am I correct that this mandates
Visual Studio since to write C# you must have VSTA, and VSTA requires VS? I
cannot seem to get a definitive answer.

For #2, can it all be done with VBA?

Any other suggestions or 3rd party add-ons?

Can you set up your Word document  as a content type with some server variables
and then push  that data in from your Infopath form  using a custom workflow built
in SharePoint Designer?

Seems like as long as you push  those fields  up from InfoPath as columns
in the library, then you could just use Quick Parts in Word 2007 to
display certain fields in a document.
