InfoPath Forms Services Error

Asked By: Uma    Date: Jul 18    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1084

I have a new SharePoint extranet Site Collection that allows
employees at Texas A&M University to submit data about their upcoming
international travel. We have the basic two authentication provider zones:
default (for internal users) and extranet (for users outside of our network).
The Infopath form uses the submit button in the toolbar (no button control).

Error: External users are getting an error when they try to submit the form.
They get the pop-up box with the error message that reads: "an error occurred
while the form was being submitted." The form submits fine from computers inside
our network, but a professor on campus and my own home computer get this error

Has anyone any thoughts or solutions for this?

My guess is that the form  is publishing to the internal  address which
is not accessible from the Extranet. We have a duplice InfoPath form
for Work Order requests. One is published to the internet site  and the
external form is published to a separate library that uses the
Extranet URL. We have a conditional link on our front page that
displays the correct URL for the submission based on the access URL.

How are external users  accessing the sharepoint  site or InfoPath form? Did you
do alternate access mapping?
