Infopath conditional logic in calculated field

Asked By: Jerry    Date: Jan 30    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 11235

I have a field that needs to return one of three values based on the
number returned from a calculated field. the logic in Excel is:

=IF(Score<15,"Minor",IF(Score<25,"Significant",IF
(Score<35,"Major","Huge")))

I just can't seem to replicate this in Infopath using the very very
limited formulas that are in there. Can anyone assist?

Trying to do it using default value calculations is difficult. If you
instead set the value of the calculated  field using rules, you can put
conditional logic  around this. Add a rule to the Score field  that
updates the calculated field accordingly. Another option is an onChange
event handler on the Score field, but that will require writing a small
amount of Javascript.

Thanks but there seems to be a problem in creating a rule for the
calculated field. It is the sum of four other fields and returns a
numeric value of either 15, 25 or 35. The field  I'm trying to
configure will return  MINOR if the calculated  field is 15,
Significant if it is 25 and Major for 35.

There is no option to configure a Rule for the SUM calculated field,
there is place for logic  and conditional  formatting that only
applies to the text characteristics like bold, italic, colour, font
size etc.
