Can you index non-published documents in Sharepoint 2001?

Asked By: Theresa    Date: Feb 02    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 700

I thought that Sharepoint could index all of the documents within
it's document store, both published and non-published.

The problem that I am having is that when I search sharepoint only
gives published documents as results.

When I index external sources it does a fantastic job of indexing.

So can somebody confirm if Sharepoint only indexes published or all
documents.

If it does only published, is there a way to change Sharepoint to
produce indexed results for all documents?

No. Until a document is published it will not be indexed, show up in
search results, subscriptions, etc.
