We would like to schedule our Sharepoint server to run an incremental update
every day and a full update every week.

We know that whenever you run a full update, subscription notifications are send
out, and that you have to switch off the subscriptions before running the update
in order to prevent this.

I was wondering how this worked when performing an incremental update. Are
subscription send out whenever running an incremental update as well? Or is this
only the case with the full update?

Has anyone successfully scheduled these actions? I.e. : turn off subscriptions
-> run update -> turn on subscriptions.
