Is there an easy way to import documents stored in a Lotus Notes database into

Ideally, if we could preserve any meta data associated with each document into a
SPS document profile, that would be great!

We are in "disinvest" mode with Notes at work, so simply indexing the content is
not an option.

we have just completed a very similar job for a European bank group.
In fact, there is no real easy  way (or at least we haven't found
one), so we decided to use a three phase approach:
1) Using the Microsoft tooling to migrate document  libraries into a
MAPI enable Exchange 2000 folder
2) Deciding on which documents  and in particular which properties and
their mapping
3) Importing them through a Outlook COM Add-In using the Outlook
Object Model on the read side and WebDAV on the write side to the
target folder in SharePoint Portal Server

We found that step 2 is very important - meta  data is often be used
inconsitently within Notes, and some documents are not of relevance
anymore. Step 3 is initially fairly straight forward - the
complication starts with attachments.
