Import Spreadsheet

Asked By: Hunter    Date: Sep 12    Category: MOSS    Views: 794

I have an issue here which I am looking into. I have MOSS SP1 ready to
go live and start moving sites from our SPS server. For some odd reason
when you navigate to the site from the External Zone the Import
Spreadsheet link is not there. Is there any setting that I need to look
at to enable importing of a spreadsheet from an external zone? I am kind
of at a loss here.

I have found my answer. In the Authentication Providers the bottom radio
button says enable  Content Intergration the default setting  is No but by
changing it to Yes the Datasheet as well as open in MS Access, and
Importing Spreadsheet is enabled.

After you click on import  Spreadsheet, the next page will ask you to give the
list a name, browse to the spreadsheet  you want to import, and click the Import
button. The spreadsheet will open, for Range Type, I normally select Range of
Cells but you have other options. Under Select Range, click the "-" button and
then highlight the cells on the spreadsheet you want displayed in the list.
Click the X in the box once complete. Then click the Import button. Once it
finishes importing, the list will open. You might have to play around with the
views to get the data to display the way you want.

I did exactly what you said, after selecting the range of cells I clicked on
IMPORT button then after few seconds i got an error showing
"Method 'Post' of object 'IOWSPostData' failed". What might be the wrong? sorry
to say still i am using standard edition, do i have to migrate to enterprise
edition or else any updations/activating any features?
