How to import our existing product sites into a new subarea?

Asked By: Luz    Date: Jan 26    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 4040

I would like to import our existing product sites into a new subarea . We have
questions about whether we can just copy and paste the existing files from the
current SharePoint directory into the new subarea directory (and obviously
change all of the links). I also have questions about the style sheet that will
apply to the new subarea and about creating new templates.

Would anyone know how to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

whoops I think I did but no replies...

Did you try stsadm to create a new instance ?
If u need to migrate the subsite, then probably u can try smigrate but users
access settings are not migrated. Is this is what you are looking for ??

When creating  a network share it looks like I can only carry
over single documents instead of full folders. I guess my question is can or how
do I move full folders over to a new site?
