How do you import a Custom document property from Word

If you right click a Word document and add a custom property. How do you get that information into SharePoint? Where do you configure to add that property? I can't seem to find it.

First, you need Office 2003. Then the document library must have a
single-line text column with the exact same name as your custom property.
Finally, you must use one of the methods of getting the document into the
document library that invokes Word (saving from Word or multi-file upload).

If this leaves you with questions, please post again.
