Import Active Directory Groups into Contacts Library

Asked By: Neal Rodgers         Date: Oct 19, 2003      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 441

I've created a contacts library in an area within my portal and have
no problem importing active directory names into it.

My problem is however, that when i import an AD group, SPS 2003 adds
the group members individually to the contacts list, not the group
itself.

Is this something anyone has come accross and if so is there a fix?

Thanks in advance.

The fix is to use the NT version of the group  name, rather than picking the group from the address book. So, for example, if your domain is ACME and the group is Wobblers, you enter ACME\Wobblers as the group.

On the next page, you do NOT need to enter an email address - you can just click on Finish.
