Impersonation in MOSS

Asked By: Ralph    Date: Oct 12    Category: MOSS    Views: 628

Is anyone successfully implemented Impersonation in MOSS?
Impersonation in SPS 2003 was sort of easy, we can easily get
impersonate as SharePoint App Pool (as Todd suggested
mindsharpblogs.com/.../467.aspx) but with
MOSS that is not the case, now we can have our App Pool running as
"Network Service".

I tried Impersonation in MOSS Doc Library event handler, using
WindowsImpersonationContext as mentioned in
support.microsoft.com/default.aspx but
unfortunately MOSS is not taking the new administrators credentials it
is still using the web users credentials.

Did you include the additional line?

One of the developers here claims that this method is working for him
on SP2007.

In WSS v3 you will want to use RunWithElevatedPrivileges rather than my
old impersonation  methods.
