IIS/Web Store Restart Resolves Authentication Problem

Asked By: Leila Dillon         Date: Mar 30, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 217

Will anyone post the solution for avoiding the IIS/Web Store Restart
necessitated by a user denied access dialog? We are running a
standard member server config in AD and at unreplicable intervals,
users who were once able to access the workspace are denied access.
I've read the FAQs and can resolve this with a IIS/Web Store Restart
and sometimes a Server Restart - what is going on? Has anyone else
seen this?

I have had a VERY similar situation when my users  try to save an already
opened file to the store  directly.....if they close word and reopen word
(after emailign the doc to themselves) they can save the doc just
fine........no idea how tio fix

I have seen a similar problem  in a non-ad environ. We have a asp page that
accesses the workspace  to display the contents through an iFrame. This is
well documented action that should be easy and consistent. Yet, at
unpredictable intervals we have a problem where the asp pages are no longer
able to access  the web site. A restart, and everything is good again - or at
least at the same level.
