IIS root

Can we change default IIS root, i mean instead c:\inetpub\wwwroot then install
sharepoint.. Or after SharePoint has been installed, can we change the default
IIS root, is it possible?

The location of the web site is set in the IIS MMC console and yes it can be
changed (go to the Home Directory tab and change the path).
