IFilter programming for CAD files. Info reqd pls

Anyone got any information on writing your own IFilters to use when indexing
documents. E.g. Cad drawings. (MicroStation).
I have a need to implement an indexing solution for a client, however there
are no available IFilters for Microstation, only AutoCad. Information /
examples would be appreciated. VB / VC / API stuff..
