IE Crashing due to KB918899

Asked By: Grace Lewis         Date: Nov 24, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 221

We've tested the security update for Internet Explorer KB918899, but found that our browsers crash whenever we navigate to a page on our SharePoint portal, and then click in the address bar.

I've seen some instructions to disable http 1.1 in the IE advanced tools section, but that doesn't seem to help.

We've also seen that this only happens for internal sites / portals -- external sites, including SharePoint sites seem fine.

The only way to fix the problem so far is to remove the security patch (KB918899), but that is obviously not the best solution, especially as we assume it will be in the next cumulative security update. Has anyone else seen this problem, and if so, have you found a fix?

I got a patch  from our TAM when this first came out and that fixed it for me.
