Ideas on Archiving Discussions and surveys

Asked By: Bruce    Date: Aug 04    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 2154

Can any of you suggest what I should do to accomplish the following:
how to archive discussions?
My user group will be having Sharepoint discussions about the financial statements in lieu of email conversations. They want to save the discussions in an archive in case they need to look it up at a later date (similar to looking up an old email)

Is there a way to archive surveys?

I usually use the save  to template option to "archive" these lists.
Export the list template from the list template gallery and then remove
it from the gallery and delete the list. You are left with an STP file
on your c: drive that you can put into VSS or wherever you want to keep
the archives.

If you ever need it back, simply upload it into the list template
gallery and create a list from it.

Note, this solution only works on lists up to 10 MB. That should be more
than enough for any discussion or survey.
